Did you know that all pet owners should have two photo i.d. cards with a photo of themselves with their pet in case of an emergency evacuation or natural disaster?
Both FEMA and the Humane Society of the United States highly recommend it! One card should remain with you and a second card should be kept at a safe location other than your own home, in the event that your home is destroyed.
An identification card proving that you are in fact your pets owner can be a critical piece of information needed to reclaim your pet if they are lost in a disaster or evacuation. The ability to prove ownership of your pet with proper identification can help reunite you with your pet much faster and with a lot more ease. Some rescue groups now request a photo i.d. of you and your pet before returning your pet due to the fact that many pets were falsely claimed after Hurricane Katrina. And, of the Katrina pets that were rescued, many were adopted out to new owners as their original owners could not be located or identified in a timely manner.
$20 per Pet & Two I.D. Cards Included!
10% will be donated to Emergency Animal Rescue Services and Animal Rescue New Orleans.
*Free Goody Bags for the first 30 pets! *
